I'm 46 live in the midlands and started fixing Bikes when I was 8yrs old.
left school and did my papers at Ford , in those days I was tuning Lotus twin cams and RS 3100 capris etc etc.
Even though I was working on cars, I had a bike repair business and put myself through many courses.
At 21 I moved into Heavy Commercials and finished up with my own Artic and went Long distance driving as there was no money in spanners!
Bikes were always my hobby ,and I never let go of my roots.
In 1994 I came of the road, and opened a Bike shop where I repaired and tuned Bikes and organised holidays Abroad for my customers.
In the next 3 yrs we done most of Europe from Italy to spain and every thing in between.
The Nurburgring Experience, (well it was ride the ring and drive the ring) in those days, started as a mission (a group of guys) led by me ,who would set of from the UK and head off to the ring most weekends (madness) was the only way to describe it! lol
Anyway, I made a lot of German contacts and eventualy I started "running" trips from the Uk.
The Most Important thing was to make my mark, and thats what I set out to do.
I have always kept my head down and avoided the "clique" No offence intended!!!!
And Now I am "godfather"to my German friends Daughter who own the hotel that I use for my customers, and they are all like my extended family.
I have built my reputation on the basis of providing the back up and support to my customers.. You will rarely see me on the Ring as I am too busy looking after my customers needs, and also I dont want it to become a busmans holiday.
But when i'm off duty, LOL , I do enjoy a lap or 3 !
In the next 2/3 years I will be living out there, as the Milage I done last year alone was enough to buy me a hotel in the diesel money I spent, LOL
anyway, Thanks for the welcome , and if ever you have a problem at the Ring and I can help you guys out!
just give me a shout, and if i'm about, I'll see what i can do to help..
keep up the good work guys
regards
MAV
