Hello, been made aware of this site from another member, 'Big Shazza', and decided to join. Recognise a few names on here from rover circles too!

I lived in Mildenhall until last year, moved to Norwich in October to start a new job and love it.

I drive an MG Maestro Turbo, one of 505 originally made. I've had it 6 years, 7 in June :o It's been about a bit and resurrected twice from death but i love it to bits, its my stress relief from life and work although i dont drive it as much as i would like, hopefully this will change when the days get longer and warmer. :)

It's had a few things done to it, bigger turbo, huge intercooler, bigger brakes etc and runs up to 20psi which should be good for 250bhp and well over 270lb ft, i will find out in the spring as i would like to take it to Emerald in watton and get the fuelling checked, if all is well i'll be putting the boost up to 23psi 8)

Hope to speak to you lot soon.

Gareth

Not a very widely loved car I must admit but I have fond memories of hooning these around brands hatch indy circuit at the Official release. Loved them and must have clocked up around 30 laps in them :D

Looks like you have a great example there - do you take it on the track?

Welcome :D

Hello and Welcome Gareth

An unusual weapon you have there - my father used to have a montego turbo - still swears by it (or was that at it)

hello mate, nice to see you on here!

I have been out in this car and the power figures do not do it justice! when it comes on boost it is so quick and so much torque! ashamed to admit but he use to leave my integra for dead!

what was your best 1/4 mile time again mate?

I've only ever been to Bruntingthorpe in it, when it still had the standard turbo, a lot of fun and i would do it again at another circuit but it needs a few things doing first, such as the balljoints because its shagged them out in 10k miles and the handling is just a tad inconsistant

I prefer drag racing though, intended to go last year but it just didnt happen, running 15 psi it did a 13.72 @ 103 mph with a 2.2 60 ft. Running more boost now and a better flowing downpipe i expect the terminal to be around 106-107mph and ET about 13.3. It would go faster, but grip is an issue on 195 tyres, even though they are GSD3's.

BTW Shaz we still need that little race you wanted as it will leave you Scoob for dead too ! (in a straight line until i sort me joints out  )
