Bigpower

Hi all,

Time to break my silence since ive been lurking now for a week or so.

I'm the proud owner of an N/A 98 DC2 Integra Type-R. The car is in a pretty high state of tune for a road going 1800 N/A and currently makes 240 ish at the fly after a lot of engine work. On this basis you might think im on the wrong forum (and im not so sure myself in that respect) since this is hardly BIG power by forced induction standards but the car has a good power to weight ratio (i.e. weighs around 1000kg) and can honestly say is the best handling car and the most exciting drive i have ever had. I have had some bigger powered cars in the past to compare with (mainly German marques and most notably from the Jap perspective a Legnum VR-4 which i tweaked a bit) all of which were fun at the time but by gum, i love this Integra !! Its raw! Im also of the more mature persuasion (i.e. old git) and like the fact that a significant part of the membership here seems to be on average over the age of 21! (not that ive got anything against any young'uns out there of course). Got future mods planned to free up more horses but im at that crossroads now as to whether to go the whole N/A hog (ITBs etc) or stick on a Rotrex SC and sod the hindmost :lol: ) Ive had a few track days and the car works really well at the limit. Dont know how it would fare against scoobies and skylines though. Maybe on a small twisty track ...

You will find a few fans of the integra here - Stu used to own one and I have ragged one around Bedford and loved every minute in it. That was a std one too - yours must be a beauty

Previous car was a ITR loved every minute of owning it but the time came to move on.

Stick with NA it is the essence of the car. :-D

I was a bit concerned that my measly 240 would exclude me from the BigPower group but it is good to know that the near perfection of the DC2 ITR shines through even at the upper reaches of the jap petrolhead fraternity 8)

Sorry Mark, i didnt know what you were talking about re: the Holbay H120 but a quick google shed some light (i did guess you were talking about the Hillman Hunter though !). 95 bhp must have been an impressive figure then. I still insist on a natter though at our first meeting since i just love all car talk and am always willing to learn. Am toying with the idea of the Feb Snetterton meet. Will you be going ?

I have allways regarded the DC2 as a great car. I test drove one a few years ago and if it hadn't had so much previous bodywork, I would have bought it. Boy those engine love to rev 8)

i only have 225 bhp atm ( although i can just crank the boost up if i want lol )

Welcome to BP from another newbie.
Nice wheels. I really rate the Integra as i couldnt shake one off on the bends around Snetterton in my old Pulsar which was fairly well sorted.
