Sounds like a good plan. Weight is a big factor with all cars and should create a good base for a track day weapon of choice. 8)

well, just put a deposit down on an MX5.

Its completely standard MK1 1.6, bar a larini exhaust. Its a real minter.

It differs a bit from my original plan of buying something modified, but I felt on balance I wanted to learn the car first before I decided what I wanted to do to it. I can guarantee if I bought something that already had coilovers I'd be thinking "are these really better than the standard setup"

Just arrangeing timeframes (As I dont really need it yet...), will post some pics when I have it.

Good thinking there michael - if you go down the road of thinking about every modification that you to to the car with respect to whether it would actually improve something crucial you wont go far wrong 8)
