As some of you know i have a kart which i plan to race ASAP.

I am tempted to get a little practice in before i hit the track on saturday.

Would i get deported if i drive the car in a car park when the shop is shut or in a ind est during the night.

So legal eagles what do you say !!!!!

If you have permission then don't see a problem - also as it's not officially a car then I don't think you are breaking any traffic laws .. but .. then you can get points on your licence if you ride a bicycle drunk - so I guess it depends on who catches you - is it loud?..

I've a funny feeling that you might fall foul having no insurance - it would depend on what the officer of the ler defines it as public or private area -

put simply it is how they nick drunk drivers on "private roads" and boot chavs out of car parks (not that you are in any way chav like)

I was reliably told that anywhere you can drive a car, is classed as part of a road and thus you must have insurance, Tax and MOT etc. This also applies to roads inside holiday camps and car parks etc. So be carefull :o

Having said that, I had a mechanic who used to drive his Formulae Ford up the road :-D

Surley the best thing to do is an open practice at a kart track, no issues just enjoy and use the time to set up the kart :-D
If you are not behind locked gates i think it is classed as public area so likely to get nicked :(

Have fun hope you get on well with it.

Yup as said above anywhere accessable to the public even if it is infact private property will leave you on the wrong side of the law :(

Bring it to Snetterton, the nice people there may let you try it, maybe on the big bit of tarmac before you go in ?

We used to do it all the time when i was a Kart instructor.

Only place you could really get a 125whisper out of 2nd gear (6speed sequential!!) was down the local industrial estate - its a total buzz as well as the cars seem fookin massive when you're in a kart !!

Its not like the police would catch you anyways, but maybe you dont want to be asking my advice on stuff like this !!! :D :D
