Well here I am,
Back in one piece thank goodness !!!
Funniest bit was the sideways incident occured NEXT to Matts photoshoot on Friday and he didnt even notice !!!! Although he did see the car driving slowly back the other way after the event apparently !!!
I should explain that this was obviously on the Isle of Man

and that I wasnt trying to be too mental, but I had a friend with a rather fast Pulsar in the car with me and we had been for a little zoom, and I was saying how much the car tram lines and follows surface changes and bumps, especially at speed. I happened to go down a relatively small country road, and opened the car up, and as I changed into 5th at around 145 it hit a particularly severe undulation on the nearside that sent the car flying over the centreline at about a 20% angle, which I landed on lock but the force then kind of sent the car back in a pendulum effect and too (apparently) 6 grabs and lost about 20mph in the process, at which point I was still hard on the gas forcing it straight and we managed about another 80yards before it hit a second large dip and did it all again which only took about 4 switches to catch (improvement already, which Im pleased with   ). At which point I would have slowed down anyways, but was forced to for an now rapidly approaching junction !!!
It wasnt scary, and indeed my passenger (who has been in my drift car with me before) noted that at no time was he frightened - his comment was that I am still smooth even when trying to have an accident in 5th gear !! I must say that the guys in Stuttgart certainly know how to build a car that gives you alot of control, just a shame that this control comes at the cost of such nervousness on normal roads. Still its a lesson learned and beats the hell out of anecdotes about how clever the cupholders are in the Audi !!!
Overall impressions are that the car is pretty well glued to the road - 285/30/18's on the rear with the engine squashing themn in the tarmac helps alot there. Brakes are pretty good, although when used with more intent they can heighten the noses interest in the scenery. Gearchange is slick, clutch is stiff but not particularly svage and the seats are lovely - but I really should start the old weight loss program to get the best out of them !! Headlights are avaerage, stereo is pretty pants - but I believe they even have lightweight speakers, which explains the lack of depth, not that I've listened to it much !!
Only real annoyance is the lack of adjustment on the steering wheel and the wheel itself. It telescopes in and out for reach, but doesnt tilt up and down for height and I find it too close to my legs a tad, but I will be looking at sorting this by lowering the seat sor seat rails - which are non adjustable without unbolting the seats themselves. The actual wheel feels like cheap plastic despite being full leather - this will get swapped for a suede RS item very soon.
Think I will get the suspension geametry done for full race spec as its fully adjustable as standard and I dont think the tramlining could be much worse than it already is, and maybe get a single mass flywheel, cup intake and filter for a few more ponys !!!
Cant believe Im gonna mod a GT3 and I havent even owned it a week yet !!!
