Overall I thought the event was well worth attending. The idea of running the quarter mile in one direction and the drift sessions in the other was a bit bizarre, meaning you could either watch one or the other, but I suppose that is the same at other events like TOTB.
Paul (gtst lad) looked like he was having a great time on his home track. He seems to be getting better everytime I see him. The way he attacked the Esses' on the first section showed enormous confidence and control. The new tow eye looks very cool as well 8)
The standard of drifting seemed to be a lot better once everyone had got familiar. Entry and exit speeds rose and the transitions, for many, improved.
The quarter mile entries were poor in my opinion. The fastest car I saw just broke into the 11's and the fastest 0-60mph was 3.89. I know we get spoilt by the Santa Pod entries but I couldn't help thinking that there were several of our cars that would have gone out and done very well for themselves.
Earlier in the day I saw a few of the cars doing their lap times and the most impressive, for me, was one of the Audi's. I think it was an RS4, certainly sounded the part.
The attendance must have disappointed the organisers. An event like this with proper support and marketing should have generated several thousand paying customers. I dread to think what the actual figure was but I've never got out of the circuit on a race day as quick as I did today.
Nice to see some of the guys there. Dan, Trev, Martin, Dave and Alex were amongst the spectators and obviously 'we' had Paul driving too.
I'm sure someone better organised than me will get some pictures up later.

Hello Mr Stu nice to see you again and everyone else i saw there

i've forgotton who i met already, sorry lol
I only really saw and drove in the drifting but it was huge fun for me today, how much adrenalin can one person use in a day
Must say for someone of my level of drifting i was feeling a bit out of my league so just decided to give it death and learn as much as i could, whilst doing that i somehow got 4th place overall and Best Entertainer trophy :-D :-D :-D
I think they scored me well for entry speed and the first section of the esses as i never nailed the transition to the second part and mostly spun.
the hardest thing i found about using the esses is it's a blind entry so really really hard to start the drift on the right line to nail the transition for the second bend.
My poor old wagon took a hammering, destroyed 2 wheels and tore the exhaust from the turbo as well as a niggling problem with a noisey clutch release bearing getting worse.
Well there's my mini write up and as soon as i get some pics i'll post them up 8)

Like Stu said with some decent marketing and promo this had the potential to be very large. That said I still enjoyed it alot and got to spend the day at the local racetrack 8)
Paul was looking awesome the way he was chucking his machine into the Esses'  ....I think the drifting was the highlight for me as the 1/4 mile action was quite tame

........with drifting you know you are going to get some awesome action :-D
Nice to spend some time with Alex and Dave.....who are both sharing the pain of being off the road at mo!!
I think Stu gets the award for the longest dinner break ever........being the gaffer does have it's advantages I guess 8)
