Daily Driver

Post by BigFil »

I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone used as their daily driver, mine is nicknamed "The Slug" due to the fact that flat out it will just about hit 75mph!! Don't be shy, lets see some pics

Driving a fast Jap import is like coming out of the closet, you might surprise some people, but in the end you are still gay.

So is that what they call a HardRoader as opposed to a Softroader :)

I don't actually drive daily ... i.e. I only drive on weekends - but if i'm going to the shops then I take our MKII golf 16v .... I always wanted one from when the big bumper model came out.

Totally standard, apart from uprated suspension and lowering springs. Fitted new bumpers as the old ones were a bit scratched - especially after a numpty in a merc rear ended the car - but H-Tech (Chris) sorted out the caved in rear. He fitted a new rear floor pan, new rear scuttle, bumper - basically rebuilt the back. The damage was bad enough to make the spare wheel pop out of the floor and jam against the seats.

Nice plates guys :o

In the spirit of honesty I should confess that the above is a library picture. Mine would just the same if it weren't for the other half hitting every side of it, therefore re-enacting that advert where the Indian guy tries to make his car look like a 206 with the help of an Elephant.

It's a 3 litre V6 with all the cats removed (sports cats ;) ) and recaro seats. My model also switchable suspension 8) 8) . And dents. Lots of dents.

My daily 'rider'

Image

Top 5 joys of getting on my daily 'rider'
1, Kids shouting and swearing at each other at 7am
2, Ipods/mp3 players on extra loud (gawd knows what its doing to their ears!)
3, Old people on the bus at 7am !! Where do they go at 7am ?!!!!?
4, People with push chairs getting on at 5pm......they've had all day to come in the city and go home !!!!!!
5, Listening to someone shouting about how Tracy X slept with so and so last night, I turn round only to see a bunch of girls about 12 years old !!!

Rant over.....gawd I am getting old !!!!

Another classic, a girl about 18 with a kid stands up to get orf, the kid doesnt move, so she shouts her name......what is it..........BRITNEY !!!!
The whole bus cringes !!!!

4X4s are taking over the world! I don't have pictures of my daily driver, but it's a Vauxhall Cav td, nice and economical for the travelling I some times do, it's a great car, if a little rusty   , but it's done over 200,000 miles so I can't complain!

That's some very large rubber you have there Phil!

No pics of my daily driver either, but its a Rover 420 GSDI (or as I call it, 'the tank')
Plenty good enough to run me to work and back, and I dont care about where I leave it!! Plus I get 40+ to the gallon!:)
