Just had a read through this before you posted this.
It is intersting, however I barely read past the 5th or 6th post on an SN thread as it goes back to the usual argumentative bickering!
Starts off with a valid point but then decends into the "this garage is doing it already" and "I spoke to another garage and they'd never heard of it!?!?!" type of conversation....

August 23rd is the launch date for V-Power, whether that means sites will start receiving V-Power or thats when signage is started to be replaced on sites but most sites will probably receive there first delivery of V-Power before Aug 23rd. It appears some sites may already have V-Power. Where I work we have not had an Optimax delivery for a while where before we were receiving at least one a week. This would suggest that most of the Optilmax left is on sites and V-Power is ready to be delivered to sites.
If you have a Optimax Club PlusPoints card, this will be replaced to a V-Power PlusPoints card but if your a low user of Optimax you may only receive a normal PlusPoints card. The Optimax Club card is not valid after 30th September.

Do you think we'll be able to notice the difference?

Not immediately as your car will still be using the old 98, then when the ecu recognises the 99 it will correct it's self... it will probably run smoother with the 99 - I know that've noticed a difference when I've used millers octane booster in a tank.
