I was just wondering how you all keep your cars safe, do you have personal garages or do you pay to keep it secure in a lock up or something?
I am having big problems with people hanging round the car all the time and am getting well down about it. My last car I had kids nicking the valve caps and even threatening to key it.
Cheers.

Hopefully not a problem for me as the car is parked off street on a private gated drive... but I think garages are very useful too - i have one full of junk so unfortunately cant park in it.

is it possible for you to get a lock up?

if not u could try offering an incentive to some of the kids for looking after the car..... passenger rides or not breaking their legs ??

Last time i caught a kid stealing valves caps i took them back off him and told him where to go, an hour later i had a knock on the door and i had his thug dad busting through my door trying to hit me!!!

Does anyone know of any lock up garages for rent in Norfolk?

I have a private lock up in or near Attleborough but it's full of Daves GT4 and my track/drift car. How far are you prepared to drive to store it Ian? I'll also contact a bloke I know in Dereham and see if he has anything.

Prepared to travel quite far Stu as I really need to know its safe.
As close to the Swaffham area as possible would be best.
Thanks for your help.

I've got a mate in the Police at Dereham. When he goes in to work tonight he'll have a word with the guys in Swaffham and the other offices tonight. If anything concrete comes up, I'll be in touch.
Where is you car parked at the moment Ian? If its in the road why don't you take the valve covers off anyway and buy a car cover that you can tie down as a short term measure?

Yes I am planning on getting a car cover Stu but i suspect that will just get nicked. :(
At the moment the car is parked down my driveway but its in full view of people going down the road but the trouble is all the local lowlifes know where it is anyway!
Yes I am taking the valve caps off overnight now.
I really appreciate your help, definitely worthy of a beer!

I use a car cover, only good for keeping it clean - I do worry about the car - I will never pull into the drive if someone has followed me down my road .... when getting near home I always watch what's behind me.

Good luck with finding a suitable lock up - will give you piece of mind.

Have you thought about a wheel clamp in the short term and get some crap dust covers for the valves.

Even though i'm really careful some tea leaf took a chrome cap of my golf .. must have had a unicycle though as they only too one.

have you got an alarm system on your car? I have a clifford intelliguard 950 on mine and as soon as anyone steps near it it gives off a warning sound also it has the brightest blue LED warning light I ever seen, to warn off them heathens.

Yeah I have got a top of the range one on there complete with a keycode required to start the engine but it wont stop people running a key down the side of the car.
Just need to get it under lock and key for pece of mind sake!
