After lifting my Comp MOs up to the new "wheel rack" in the garage I remembered how heavy those b*stards are and started thinking about changing them for some lightweight wheels.
I don't really want to be spending £2500 on Advans so looking for inspiration.
LEading at the moment are Rays Gram Lights although I haven't had a quote yet...
Any suggestions?
Which Light Wheels for the GTR
Re: Which Light Wheels for the GTR
Not really a suggestion, more an observation, my TE37's were heavier than the standard wheels - I always expected them to be light.

Your Volks were bigger sized than the standard wheels though you numpty !!!Ben wrote:Not really a suggestion, more an observation, my TE37's were heavier than the standard wheels - I always expected them to be light.

Cant go wrong with proper JDM wheel brands mate.......Volks / Rays / Gram Lights, Advans, Enkeis etc, if they are good enough for the Japanese tuners and all the cars you see at the Japanese track events that has to count for something.

Gareth you missed one massive point - Christian doesn't want to spend £2500 ... lol

I think you did mate missing his last commentBen wrote:Gareth you missed one massive point - Christian doesn't want to spend £2500 ... lol

Advans weren't as expensive as Rays but it's the price of the wheels and tyres that bring the price up.
Re: Which Light Wheels for the GTR
If you can find them, Desmond Regamasters would be very light, pretty strong and suit the R32 too. Light 18" wide alloys are going to be mega bucks new (2000 per set + ) so you'll need to do some hunting mate. Ex-race use Team Dynamics may be good enough as the forged ones will be about right as long as they haven't picked up damage, buckling etc etc
I know the wheels you already are heavy old pups, but they are damned strong. Not a bad thing to have on track.

Cheers guys, just seen all these replies
those team dynamics could be worth a look (the ebay ones) will have a look at new prices and weights.
Co-ordsport had an offer on some gram lights on the GTR forum and they were about £1150 which seemed good, but they only had one set and weren't the offset for me. Need to give them a call and price up the right size.
Stu, agree with you on the sturdiness point though fella. Also a "spare" set will only be used in the wet so it may be excessive to change, although they could become the main set I suppose. Not sure what the comps would be worth to sell. Prob less than how cool they look on the car

What size / offset are you ideally after?
Do you need 18's or will 17's do?
