Hamilton's comment at Monaco Grand Prix

I didn't hear his 'What, is it cause i am black', Ali G comment but was told about it and have read the articles on it. Personally I think it was a stupid and childish remark to make even if spoken in jest.

When talking about Lewis Hamilton how many people actually thought of him as a black racing driver or did they think of him as a quick driver. Comments like that even if said in jest will undo all the hard work he has done.

The next time a 50/50 decision goes in his favour someone will throw that back in his face. 'He only got the vote cause he's black'.

Don't take it out of context Pablo. I watched the clip and I think he showed a reasonable amount of humility bearing in mind his frustrations. I appreciate that we may all have differing view points on this but I think he genuinely had no or serious answer as to why he gets this kind of treatment and just made a quip about it. He could have said 'It's because I'm boning one of the hottest women on the planet' but maybe that wouldn't have been popular either :D

Don't take this the wrong way, but a lot of people are basing their opinion on he said without actually seeing the footage (which is clearly a fustrated joke, albeit a poor one). Unfortunately it'll be a comment that'll haunt him for a long time.

Brundle has spent time reviewing the race footage again, and with the benefit of more time and different angles, has decided that in some areas the Stewards decision was a little harsh- http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula ... 606369.stm

Yeah about the incidents rather than the comments, hamilton showed how a good driver reacts when someone tries to overtake, when shumi went past him at the hairpin, i think he did nothing wrong.

I haven't seen the video of the interview before, I had only read the articles. I was very disapointed to hear his comments but after just watching that clip, it was very clearly a joke and his composure is astounding really!

I thought Hamilton was pretty level headed - I can see he'd be fuming about the treatment he's had of late! It's nice to see someone speaking their mind and not afraid to upset Bernie et al.

It's be great to see this sort of interview in F1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU70l_cQ2do
