we are all petrolheads that is a fact otherwise we wouldnt do what we do
so i was woundering what is peoples favourite motorsport and why?
if there is any mototrsport in the world i would love to watch all day everyday
it would have to be the V8 supercars from australia
the cars are absolutely emense they use 5.0L V8 engines that sound the absolute dogs bits producing 600+bhp and will do over 200mph.
the cars represent what you can buy in a show room (wish ford import the Falcon) and look great in standard trim.
owe and the comontators are funny as hell.
to try and convince us that your sport is best then try and convince us with some facts:smilielol5:

Ooooooo Big V8's versus Rallying........... good calls. I love both and I'm not saying my choice is better, but maybe worth considering
DTM

460hp V8's
370lbs ish
1000kgs
Sequential gearboxes
I much prefer the grass roots style of the Aussie V8's but the technology of the DTM stuff is mightily impressive

I've got to agree with Trev. I enjoy most forms of motorsport but rallying has got to be my favourite. Hopefully the WRC will be a lot better next year now they have changed the cars and a lot more manufactures are entering again.

Without doubt V8 Supercars is one of my favourites (besides F1) and makes the BTCC look tame and bland in comparison. I've missed the last 2 seasons for various reasons, but this year I intend to watch the lot, and at least one race in particular- Bathurst!
First lap from this year's event, including a crash-

This is something I liked seeing too- footage from the driver's footwell watching the heel and toe action (doesn't happen much now as I believe they've all gone over to fully sequential gearboxes)-

Forza 3 on the Xbox has the proper cars on there, but they didn't do the 3ft flames on downshifts

Oh I know! I'm just annoyed for missing two seasons now. Roll on February!
What's with the lack of Ford teams now? Seems a few have switched to Holden, like the (former) Triple 8 Falcon's (Lowndes and Wincup)?

i know whatyou mean there seems to be more holdens but thats fine with me as long as a ford wins.
this has been the first full season ive watched and i know understand the passion
that goes into over there, i mean when a ford gets punted off or gets beat i find myself
shouting at the tv cursing and swearing:biggrinjester:
i love the way this year spectators were LIMITED to 24cans lager each at bathurst
