Finally managed a 12 in the fwd rover tomcat at the pod today.

Car was going really well and only a 2nd gear change issue (had to really be careful for it to go in gear under power) prevented it from going quite a bit faster I think it could have been half second quicker if I can sort out this out

run
60ft 1/8" 1000ft 1/4"
2.126 8.7386 @92.19mph 11.0882 @106.70 12.9829 @ 119.95mph

car felt good on the drive home too so no damage done from all the thrashing!

Bloody good result for all you persistance and hard work :)
Shows how rubbish the surface is @North Weald.
Did you get to use the NOS?

yeah I run 13.3 without it at 111 best

need to sort the gearbox 2nd gear though as I think it could get close to 12's without the nos if it wern't for the slow change.

Annoying though as it drives perfect on the road, its only when I do a full blooded start it refuses to go in 2nd gear

I did see a couple of metros running 14's -pretty good going and beet a few turbo's

Well done Tomcat! Thats a very impressive time! How do the head gaskets hold up these days? My old 220`s used to blow head gaskets every other month it (seemed) One of them even managed to blow the klinger sandwich type! The strange thing is my 220`s blew head gaskets while my 620 ti`s never did, but they ate diff bearing instead!

Eddy, you should be well chuffed two? Which metro did you take? 14`s in a N/A fwd anything is not to be sniffed at (let alone in a metro:D)

touch wood I have never blown a head gasket on it -alway run a metal klinger version and had head skimmed when I first stripped it.
went through a few type a diffs , but since its had atype b (620 diff) and steel cage bearings not had an issue.
Just need to make it want to change into 2nd gear after a full on start and high rpm's in first
