Performance meter

I am planning on going to the 'Pod' on Saturday with Chris (Gordini) to try to upset some M3's in the Metro and his Renault 5 as it is the BMW weekend.
My dilema is which Metro to take. They both have similar power to weight at the moment. The new one has shorter gearing (which could be a dissadvantage) and more torque. I think i could hold the old one in third, but the new one will need a shift into fourth depending on terminal speed attained.
I need to borrow a performance meter that will do 0-60 and 1/4 mile perhaps to give me an idea which is best to take.
Anyone got one locally i can borrow for a couple of hours.
Cheers
Eddy
