idea's so far to get into the 11's

here's my spec for the rebuild so far, any advice would be so welcome.
engine: reverse inlet with hard pipes for boost
move turbo to front of engine and fit unknown make hybrid
remap
3 inch or bigger straight exhaust
no air intake restrictions
forged internals poss sti pistons and rods for cost
external 38mm w/g and screamer
body: cut away boot floor, door inners, boot lid inner, front inner
wings, slam panel, remove all unused bracketry, remove dash to
fit binnacle with dials in, fit rad in rear firewall, cut vent into rear
door and ducting to rad, relieve boot lid for air escape, remove
essential trim on body, make exhaust as short as poss for weight.
my friends think i'm loopy but i know what i want, what do you guys think?

your going to need approx high 400's-500+ to break into the 11's generally and you will most likley find that std Factory rods/pistons will not support this.........

cheers guys i appreciate all the help, maybe 11's was a bit optomistic, but i am realistic unlike a friend of mine who is rwyb ing a clio 182, standard apart from a zorstek exhaust, oh and his 400w sub and is posting high 16's. he wont listen to the idea of itb on it, likes its driveability but he calls himself a serious drag man, i run around in a 2006 scenic, this scooby is just for fun. will take as many pics as pos for all you photophiles lol and pop em up, will take some tonight of the bits and bobs and of her very rough lookin engine as it is now after 4 months in the garage. cheers again for all the comments it helps loads

Interesting. I don't know much about the permanent four wheel drive Legacy set up, but I can only imagine that it will launch well but suffer from big losses and drag as you work you way up the strip. To put my comments into context, I've run 12's in a GTR driving like someone with boxing gloves on. That had 400 ish horsepower. A friend of mine runs a VW Caddy, don't laugh, with about 380 horsepower and he's done low 11's at 127mph using just two wheel drive.......
Massive difference in power to weight obviously, but also a big difference in traction from the line.
Will your Legacy remain road legal, I guess not? If not (and you don't give a toss about residuals) then you can get some serious weight out of that car. My old school Sierra XR4x4 was 1450kgs in standard trim. By the time I'd finished with it, in a non-road legal trim, it was down to 1010kgs with a roll cage
You can swap the glass for polycarbonate, ditch the sunroof, get rid of all of the locks, the struts for the boot, the headlamps, strip the loom, get rid of the heater system............the list is endless.

Gonna need a lot of power and a lot of weight saving - neither of which are cheap / quick to acheive. Expect to break a few gearboxes and driveshafts on the leggy aswell.
if there was an easy way to do it - everyone would be.

cheers again guys, think i've seen you duncan in the time attack at oulton, i'm not really after an easy way just trying to be different i guess to all the other scooby's out there, the engine and box in the leggy are from an sti, my main prority at the mo is to learn from you guys and to chop down the weight big time. i would ideally like to keep it around 400 bhp as i know lots more can get really hard on the wallet, i bought it at 400bhp and its ok, i'm glad you guys are there to guide begginers like me through it all, been on here for a few days now and learned so much, thanks guys. at least you talk decent info and not the shit spouted freely on other forums. what can i expect from 400bhp and as much weight out as poss?

Legacys are very heavy so you would need to be really brutal with it to get significant enough weigh loss to get into the 11's.
At the risk of sounding like a spoilsport (but speaking from experience) - it really does ruin the car being that brutal.

you aint beeing a spoilsport far from it, hell if someone like you dont know then who does, i want to be brutal as its going to be purely for fun, and only for drag. your help though would be invaluable to a new boy like me.
