Well, the Escort has gone!!

That's it. Having broken the RST for parts, it has pretty much all gone. The shell went to its new home, on the south coast with someone who has good intentions for it and the engine is sold to someone who shall remain nameless unless he chooses to make it known!

I looked at various cars with which to replace the Escort, the criteria being that I wanted something modern, fairly quick, reliable and with a little tuning potential (although I really don't want to go mad) and after looking at and very seriously considering the Renaultsport 200 Clio (loved it in every way, but then I test drove it and found it mind-numbingly slow), I decided that I needed forced induction of some kind. So, next to look at was the Golf Mk5 GTi, Mini S-Works and Megane R26, but I felt strongly drawn to the R26.

50% of all the R26's I had seen for sale seemed to be Liquid Yellow, which I didn't want, I wanted white, this colour seems to represent about 5-10% of cars for sale and I also wanted the Lux pack (which is full leather Recaro's, Xenons and Keyless). On Friday, I spotted this car for sale and we went to view it on Saturday after work, buying it there and then. It's a late 2008 car, so only 14 months old and I love it. ID White, all the options I wanted and factory tints too.

Sorry for the Pistonheads pic, not had a chance to take my own yet!!

Sorry should have said, its in my garage right now! Well chuffed with it.

I reckon I'll remap it and fit a K&N panel filter, then that'll be that for now. It's just really nice to have some that I can drive/enjoy.

:D

Good choice Christian they go very well, there was one of the stripped out one at Snet with a decent race driver behind the wheel and it was lapping very well.

Like the colour..

Nice one Christian, I have been half looking at these but deceided to go a different direction. Everything said about them seems to be positive and with a re-map etc high 200's seem to be achievable and well over 300 lbs ft so then it shou,ld feckin fly!!

Yours has the LSD as well doesn't it??

Looks nice! The white is far better than the yellow you usually see. There was one that came past our hotel in Ibiza a couple of weeks back and they really do make a nice sound too :)
