I know that the later ones have the Chrysler CRD engine in it which is the same lump that is on my Cherokee.
Good strong powerfull lump but not sure if the 05 my has it fitted.
I also was looking at some LDV vans a few months ago as my father has got an old Sherpa camper van that is past its best the the interior is like new and was thinking of doing a donor swap......but as usual nothing came of my idea and the Sherpa still sits there rotting away.

never had one, but a mate of mine has a few...............
his comment was its a good workhorse but he wouldn't drive one, you buy them for employees.......

ldv - we never even considered it as an option for our company van, the probably because i have never heard anything good about them
shite build quality
slow and noisey
drop money like a stone
i would go Iveco dailey, New Transit or Merc Sprinter
just my opinion - hope it helps

i've personally run LWB Ducatos and LT35's and find the Fiat stuff is pretty good and stable due to very floor/loading height probs better than the LT in that respect, my last one did around 180K with no issues
these days we stil have one LT but i have a LWB T5 transporter and wouldn't now have anything else, use it as my personal transport as its so comfy, 2.5 so tows for England and is easy to go "rep baiting" if you fancy driving it like a car..................
