The crux of the timing farce for the production record is the amount of testing time Nissan had to set that time. They did set it but as the article states there are a lot of features that change day to day so a true comparison can hardly be made.

Weird that Nissan are to be the new sponsors/owners etc of the Grune Holle restaurant at the ring.

Basically it makes a lot of sense and seems to put the Nissan effort into perspective.
