Let's see if it actually comes in.
Rural roads, of the nature they're talking about, you'll be doing well to average 50MPH, what with all the twist and turns and 2nd gear bends.
Plus there'll be less witnesses to the actions of the GATSO terrorists!
Poxy nanny state, treating the motorist like a cash cow! :x

i should imagine the decrease of 60% in incidents is due to the fact that people take a different route avoiding the cameras .
i suppose someone has to pay off the dept so we might aswell start with the good old motorist again . i think i'll buy KY in bulk now as this goverment seems to be bending me over on a regular basis now one way or another so much so i cannot even be arsed with it all any more , we have been sold down the river, end of :x

I with Rob on this 1.
Has Jim Fitzpatrick (who resides in London East End) ever driven on these roads??
A couple of problems I have with this article:
"The new 50mph limit is intended to reduce the high death toll on rural roads, where, in 2007, 69% of car crash fatalities took place. It will apply to single carriage A, B and C roads. Local authorities will have the power to raise the limit to 60mph on the safest roads, but will have to justify it."

We dont have anything but A,B & C roads in Norfolk so that is where all the accidents are going to be!

"Last year the AA asked 17,481 motorists if the limit on single carriageway roads should be cut to 50mph. Nearly half backed the move but 38% opposed it"

Nearly half?!?! how nearly?! They can tell us exactly how many percent opposed it but cant the amount who backed it! Was probably 40% as thats nearly half!
