The real Italian job

Post by steveVR6 »

If anyone missed it last week then it's being repeated this Sunday (4th) BBC 2 7.00PM

TV chef James Martin prepares to take part in the Mille Miglia 1000 mile car race through Italy. Really interesting watching and some lovely looking machinery :-D

Thanks for the heads up. I watched it but my dad missed it. I really enjoyed it but wouldn't want to be in his shoes, well actually no I would but surely it could have done it a lot cheaper than that..

It was a good watch but i cant help but think he was so nieve to book the car in
Having spent 800K and covered only 200mile on the new engine to bed it in!
More Cash than sense i guess next year he will put some miles on it and perhaps finish the event in full.

Some awsome machinery on the route the upkeep must be some commitment on the rare cars.

Just watched this on iplayer, what a great programme.

Stunning cars, some nice looking ladies (his co-driver is nicer than Sabine anyday !) and a really good insight into this event.

Agree with the above though and that the engine should have been bed in. Wouldnt it have been better to put 500 miles on it over here first before doing it all there?
