Anyone know the best place in Norwich to get a mobile unlocked. Told Vodaphone to stuff it at last lol. Too expensive and crap service.

If its out of contract, they are obliged to supply you with the 'Simlock' code free of charge, since the equipment legally belongs to you, so cannot be restricted by them!!

I have managed to get the PAC code out of them, which is now live for a few weeks, i just need the phone i want to use unlocked to transfer my number.
It is a Vodaphone phone that has not been used before, but still will not accept the new SIM.

Eddy, if its a Vodafone supplied phone that is not in commitment (contract) to them, they will supply a code to lift the simlock, allowing you to use other networks sim's in it.
What make/model is it?

Sony Ericsson K800i
It was free lol. Actually a good phone.
Perhaps i will have another go at Vodaphone then. Trouble is their customer service is crap. On hold for 40 mins then they cut you off

So, let me get this straight, did you get that phone from them on a contract? Now that contract is finished and you want to use that phone with another provider?

Long story lol.
It is a phone they provided as a replacement for a faulty one that i never used.
The new phone works with Vodaphone SIM, but not new SIM
Cheers for your help so far mate.

OK, thats fine. Just call them up and ask for the Simlock code, you are entitled to it. They may ask for the IMEI number from the phone, make sure they give you the code for the replacement phone and not the old original one.
They'll give you a code and a procedure for entering it, then the phone should accept any Sim.
