Press coverage for Sunday 28th @ North Weald

Post by Stuart »

It had been mentioned that maybe I should start a fresh thread about the coverage of this weekends event. Thanks Logan :D

Phil Royle of Road Magazine has asked me to cover the event with some photos, interviews and a write up summarising the whole 'sprint scene';

- The build up to the event
- The participants and their steeds
- The event itself and the atmosphere
- The appeal of sprinting

Phil had genuinely hoped to cover the event himself, to save him proof reading my work if nothing else, but he has other compelling duties so has asked me to have a go, and I have to say, I'm delighted to do it.

So, if you are interested in getting featured, interested in seeing what sprinting is actually about, interested in a bloody good day out or just interested to see how many of us destroy cones, make your way to North Weald just off of the M11 in Essex. You'll see some great cars, fabulous driving and hopefully become has hooked as the guys that are already taking part :D

Hope to see you there :thumb:

Nice one Stuart,
I think you are ideally suited for the job actually as your right ups on here are top notch.
You may even do well at this as a career mate. The next Clarkson lol.
I may come down for a look.

The next Clarkson? I think that's a compliment :)

It will be nice to do the review and hopefully I'll do the guys and the event justice.

Good on you Stu !!

But I hope you have a better camera than the phone one you normally use

Seriously though, it could be the start of something good.

Your comments are gracious but the news is far more important than my writing an article. This is a great opportunity to get the topic of sprinting into a publication that enjoys a circulation of 20,000+ digital subscribers.

That obviously represents a high number of people that may well want to have a go or at least find out more information about it. The report will hopefully capture the fun and excitement of the event so that they are gagging to get involved next year.

That's the good news :thumb:

Good for you mate. Maybe if you write it up from a competitor's perspective, a view from the hot seat, like some of your reports on here should go down well.

J.R.R. Tolkein. 'It's getting to be a hobbit'

J. K. Rowley. 'Harry Plodder'

'Conen the Barbarian'

'M3, MYSELF and I.'
