Seems like good value , but will only do basic computing which should be enough looking at your 'requirements'

They have got some cracking deals on at PC World. Don't ever go to Comet or Staples for a laptop as they are ripoff expensive, i can't say anything about Tesco though. I go shopping there and buy their wonderfull 99RON but i've never bought gadgets from there so i cannot comment although they have a very nice 50" plasma screen i have my eye on!! :D

Anyway........

This is a well specced machine for the money. Has a dual core 2GHz processor (4GHz total speed), 2Gb RAM 667MHz Memory (means it's reasonably fast memory for a laptop and there's plenty of it), 200Gb Hard drive (loadsa space) and it will have decent on-board graphics and sound capability. Add to that a 17" Widescreen and you're away.

OK so it's actually

That is a nice machine mate. I know you do everything big, but i want something portable/compact so think i need to stick to 15.4" really.
This Acer seems to have a really good spec for the money.
2GB/160GB, Duo Processor etc.

Big jump from the Asus 512GB/2GB 7" that i was going to try to use at the shop lol.
What do you think?
Or as you are on a backhander from PC World, what about this one.
