we have a dell d610 laptop we use for mapping but it doesnt power up with mains lead any more and i have to charge batterys in my other dell and swap them,is there a decent place to send it for repair???

you mean apart from Dell

tbh Dell is gonna be your best bet, there arent too many decent laptop repairers about that i'd recommend. Not that i'm a dell partner or anything :-D

EDIT: Just been doing a bit of reading, it seems to be a common d610 fault, with either the mains connector solder breaking on the mainboard or the schmidt trigger chip near the DC jack has come loose if thats of any help?
