My MR2 poll, what shall i go for?

Post by Daniel »

Hi all, after looking at other MR2s on the net it made me think a bit more about what i want to do to my MR2. :?

Do i return it back to standard factory spec by changing the wheels and keeping it's original look?

Or do i tastefully modify the exterior? (the interior looks great untouched) :thumb:

So, do i go.

Yeah it does look really nice :) that's what i had in mind, it would be nice like that one just minu the smoked rear lenses and the missing toyota badge on the front.

So in a nutshell, i'm keeping this to standard factory spec as possible. so i might even change the wheels back to the original ones soon.
That didnt last long.......

When i bought my N/A Mk2 it was exactly as it came out he factory in 1991 even down to the stock 14" wheels :o . So i set about a few exterior tweeks to make it look less dated:

So I definatley think MR2s benefit from clear front indicators & repeaters aswell as a set of wheels.

ah ahng on, what about the rear lenses? :? i don't want those horrible lexus style ones that only suit lexus, can you buy the indicaor lenses clear but still keep that cluster?

From memory the rear cluster options are:

Stock early shape; Ones with fairly square clusters on most 2's

Stock Rev 3 & newer ; a tidier newer looking version than the older spec, but fairly sought after so tend to fetch a fair amount of dough for used lights.

"Lexus"; as you say, not very subtle & cleartly aftermarket.

Afterburner ; Rogue System did (hopefully still do) a replacement which changed it to 3 "afterburner" style LED.

i'd probably go for the Rev 3 style ones personally.
