Theres quite a lot of work to be done and need some quotes, no idea how much this is going to sting yet :?

why are you not going to do this ya self? Are you thinking of replacing the sill or patches?

I figured i'm pretty crap at welding and even worse at shaping metal

I think patching it up is the way forward!
