Like to hear what roads you guys enjoy driving on. Either around where you live or on a planned road trip. UK and Abroad.

One of my favourite UK roads is only about 6 minutes long but the bends, gradients and vistas are wonderful.

It's the road that takes you from Bulmer Tye to Sible Hedingham in Essex. Head out of Sudbury towards Halstead and then take the dog leg right turn towards the castle. A word of warning. Do not try and keep up with someone who looks like they know what they are doing. Until you have been up and down here a good few times, you will always forget one of the clipping points or braking spots, some of which are very bumpy which unsettles the car.

Absolutely mega road though and one of the few highlights in Essex

One of the great things when going to the Ring are the surrounding roads that lead up and down the mountainous areas. These gorgeous switchbacks, hairpins one after another are a true delight. You don't need to drive these quickly to enjoy them and you always see something fast and lairy going to or from the Ring (normally doing exactly the same thing that you are..........grinning)

Recently after leaving the car show at Feltwell, I drove some roads between there and the thetford roundabout on the A11 ... just magic, great big sweeping corners and lots of wide tree lined avenues !! ..

We recently went to Yorkshire and the roads between kirkymoorside and Robin Hoods bay were awesome, the roads sit at the top of a valley winding through hairpins, sharp curves etc and the views are just stunning.

If you take a Tom Tom it takes you down one of the side roads that threads its way down to the bottom of the valley and up, just like driving on a rally track , absolutlely superb. Just dont do it in a 1.2 Polo !!!!!!

Agree with Stu, some of the roads near the Ring are just as good as the Ring itself !!!

there is a part of the A50 out of stafford that is a good stretch of road goes on for about 6miles its
all up and down and loads of twists and turns its a very free flowwing road, the best thing about it is
you can always see up a head to see whats coming and the country senary is always nice.

Arr, there are so many.
Good local one (for me) is Haverhill to Bury, although it's at its best on a bike for ease of overtaking.

What I'd like is a convenient way of importing these into my satnav (currently TomTom) - I know you can create POIs, but marking up the road between 2 points would be really cool.

Used to do that road as part of a Sun am blast on the bike, not been up there for a while.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for, but there are plenty of good roads in Essex, maybe not mile after mile, but good fun never the less.

My slight against Essex was more a light hearted piss take out of Bladey as he is constantly banging on about how great Essex is compared to Norfolk.

I have spent 26 years in Essex (Brentwood) and I know it's a lovely county. Some of the country roads around Billericay and Ingatestone are superb also.

Me and my mates used to have a fun route round near the thetford roundabouts, not sure which roads :? but fantastic on a bike.
