Is there inspections for car in the UK.
Reason I am asking is my car is getting shipped to there from japan soon. In japan as some of you may or may not know we have a inspection (JCI) every 2 years. So pretty much is there anything special I need to do so I dont fail?
Oh yea and how does UK feel on External wastegates and or Catalytic converter?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in and for the stupid questions. Just trying to get everything ready so i dont get out there and get stuck. 8)

Well the shipment for the car to get sent over is free so that is not a problem.
I guess i should of stated that it is a 94 Skyline GTS-T is being shipped over so maybe some of the skyline owners could help me out a little.

You will not need a catalyst on that car ( I had a 94 GTSt for two years) and the external wastegate will be fine from an MOT test(yearly roadworthy test) and an SVA test (initial registration test) as long as it does not stick out from the body of the car so that a pedestrian may be hurt.
Make sure your car has a rear fog light and get your speedo converted to MPH although this does not seem to be a MOT requirement.
PM Bubble on here. He owns a mega R34 Skyline and also owns an MOT testing centre so he really will know what is what

I shipped my GTR over here from Japan last year. I was stationed at yokota, is that where you're at right now?? Anyways, it's not hard to pass MOT over here. I think the JCI in japan was a more strict check than the MOT here was. I also had my car tunned to the on-base gas before I left and it's running fine down here. I am having some problems on high boost on the top end every now and then though. But I think new coil packs and another tune will fix that. So if you've done the same then you should be fine to drive it with the gas we have here. If you've got any more questions or need some details on shipping and picking it up, feel free to ask away or pm me.
