Was in a diff league yesterday to the rest of them ... today is what counts though :D

I hope he makes it through the inevitable safety cars and that Alonso doesnt try to kill him again. (allegedly ;) )

Still, if you gotta go, take out your main rival with you. Nice last moment swerve away from Kubica 8)

Wonder what Ron Denis said?

And they wonder why the young'uns are more likely to have accidents in their first 3 years of driving !!!

:D :D :D

Pit lane question is easy Dunc.

Once a safety car has been deployed for a lap or 2 then they re-open the pit lane to allow cars in, this is to stop everyone trying to make suicidal dives into the pits when other drivers, the personnel in the pitlane or anyone else who isnt ready for a mass gaggle of F1 cars trying to get the most advantage of the safety car situation. Personally I dont feel this is an issue as ALL personnel in the pitlane should be ready for ANY car at ANY time due to racing circumstances - if Alonso has a blowout 2 corners from the pits they aren't about to send him round for another lap because the timing wasn't quite right !!! Also as we have seen particularly in this crash prone first year of no TC innocent drivers who have been racing their own strategy have been penealised due to the pits being shut because of someone elses race when they are due for fuel and effectively have two choices - run out and finish last, come in and then get a drive through losing you 20-30 seconds and ruining your race. Not really fair at all !!

The red lights that caught Lewis out RE Prtly down to the fact that Montreal is a fairly short pit with a shortcut exit that actually reduces the time they are in the pit lane for compared to when the cars come past the pit straight due to turn 1 and 2. Under safety car conditions no cars are allowed out of the pits when the safety car and cars following are in the vacinity of the exit to stop them having a massive shunt as cars exiting the pit wopuld effectively have to accelerate out then slow down and barge their way into a line of slow moving f1 cars swerving about and generally guaranteeing an accident. Besides, who would decide where each driver from the pits should slot in - cant really see Alonso making a space for Mr Hamilton coming out the pits just because it was polite, bit like the bottom of the M11 really !!! :D In this instance Lewis happens not to have noticed that his crew have pitted him, turned him round and he has driven down the pits so quickly that he still hasnt been passed by the lower placed drivers behind the safety car, Raikkonen and Kubica did, but obviously Lewis was frustrated that he'd effectively just been overtaken in the pits by the Ferrari and wanted to push on !!!

Pit crew could have reminded him over the radio, but then sometimes McLaren arent the best at overall awareness unlike Ferrari it seems.

Other than that I thought it was an interesting race, nice to see someone else on the top step, really chuffed for Kubica as he has been on a mission lately and to do it here after last years activities show cahonas of solid titanium !!! I think it will make the rest of the year more interesting as it has almost guaranteed that the championship will go to the last couple of races now.
