What are the best towing vehicle out there?
your opinions and experiances please
I'm thinking either a Nissan D22 (however heard negative things about crank issues) or Mitsubishi L200

discovery tdv6 regardless of what people may now say i have towed with one and it pulled like a train ,
have had two nissan d22 double cabs but the ride wasn't all that special when towing, and yes there are
some engine issues, l200 i personally feel is getting a bit long in the tooth now .i would probably look at a toyota amazon
to see how they went as they can be picked up at a reasonable s/h price now .
cheers

My favourite, not having driven the Navara, is the new Hilux 2.5. I have used them a few times towing the Sierra, GTR and Driftbin and they have been simply superb.
Not the cheapest but well worth the money.

the budget is around 4k...
Gary the Navara you use is a new one isnt it?
Wow...i didn't think anyone would suggest the disco..but if you got on well with it Jason then i cant rule it out..however something commericail will suit me better i think
I thought the L200 would be a good shout??i know they are quite slow, but are they not reliable?
I would love one of the new hilux's..however dont think i can stretch to it

personally use a VW t5 transporter LWB 5cylinder...............bets van we've had by far, seats 6 and tows 2.5ton legally
if its much cheapness your after a Fiat Ducato LWB is brilliant and will swallow pretty much anything you throw at them, and never move in side winds due to low load height / amazing track width - had one for 6yrs and never missed a beat
not at all like the cars they make.............

the transporter is another possibility...however i want to use the vehicle as an everyday car too...so would rather go for a pick-up...
i'll have a look at transports just to see what sort i can get for the money
