has anyone (specifically with a 200SX) ever used a battery re-location kit, if so is it easy to do? (please bear in mind i am shockingly bad with a spanner)

one or two people have done it,but i really dont see a need,if its so you can fit a intercooler then they do a battery that fits in sideways

I have done this to my S12 Silvia a couple of weeks ago.
Only reason i did this was so i could fit an intercooler into the engine bay as the car was never designed to have one.
Its not too bad to do but you need a blowtorch and some big solder to join the cables and lots of cable!

yeah its to fit an intercooler, i have got a small Nissan Micra battery on the car already but I'm not entirely sure its small enough

I know a lot of people use the BMW E36 isolated positive terminal that sits under the bonnet that allows you to make a conection for the positive cable to run to the boot. The battery then earths out in the boot.
You need some sort of proper mounting or battery box for the boot.
You might find you need a slighly more powerful battery to compensate for loss in the extra length of cable.

the request for a hole cutter and a battery relocation was a give away

we use a varta one the works with most intercooler kits,saves hassle

just had a quick look at the battery, it may just squeeze sideways obviously meaning i can drill away (once i get hold of a hole cutter of course) but the battery cables do not seem to be long enough, would these need extending or are the long enough just coiled down out of the way so to speak?
