Evo 111?? I thought the latest one was the 10, didn't realise there had been this many revisions?

The hardest thing for you will be finding a good Evo 3 that hasn't been ragged senseless. They are very different to the Evo 4 onwards, based on the Proton Persona I think you will find.

Evo 3's have a high Compression ratio 8.8:1 instead of 8.5:1 this makes for early engine exit if it has run high boost in its life.
The Evo 1-3 have a common failure in Crank walk no easy fix and good replacements will cost you.
Having said that tho a well sorted Evo 1-3 with subtle mods will prove to be a fun light track car.
For Dedicated Evo Site check the MLR Mistsubishi Lancer Register out there are buyers guides and model comparisons on there!
There are a few dedicated early Evo traders about now so parts easier to locate.

As Christian says Proton used the shell after Mitsubishi finished production!

think you'll find that Mitsi sold the jigs and rights to Proton for them to continue making the "evo" rather than the other way around..............

very good base for track car, in their day they were generally bullet proof and far stronger than the IV that replaced them!!
