i was at the pod today, and my clutch didnt like it at all, on the 2nd run it was slipping in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

ont to bad really is it is still the standard one, and im running around 350 bhp ish. (5 speed)

i have got a ap racing organic clutch and cover plate here ready, and i thought it prob be best to replace the flywheel at the same time.

am looking for one around 5kg or less.

have been offered these for "275 delivered
it is the prolite version at 4.3kg

The only prob with a Superlite flywheel is potentially bad tickover and driveability issues, and at 4.3Kg that's pretty damn light but i bet you will notice a huge difference in acceleration. I'd have the old one skimmed, lightened and balanced so you have a decent spare. Nice one!! :thumb:

P.S. That Prolite flywheel is bloody cheap at

The Standard ones are circa 12kg Ian, if you go for a 4.3kg one I would imagine driving it in town will make the car horrible, and as you approch junction sit will always want to stall.
I have a 8kg one in mine, and everything is fine, and it defo makes a differnence tho, its revs very freely

whats the rest of your spec?? if your into drag runs more than track/road use you may find a 'too light' flywheel actually slows your launches as its harder to find the balance with a lighter flywheel - happened to a number of our customers..........

we also do O.E. machined L&B flywheels down to a more realistic 7.5-8kgs..........
about half the costs you've quoted

most of my driving is to the shops, so ill all ready be rolling along, just putting my foot down in 2nd and 3rd gear.

I'd have said a 6.5Kg Flywheel is probably spot on for what you want. If it's mostly your daily driver then i would opt for driveability, but even at 6.5Kg that should still make a huge difference to acceleration.
