4 point harnesses, are these actually legal for the road?

Depends entirely on how they fasten. Seat belt style buckles are cool, aircraft style ones are not IIRC

It depends on the markings aswell but Stu is spot on. Also depends on the testing station too but that is a long story

Really, police never said anything to me today .... road was closed due to a crash ... they directed me off down some dodgy side road.

That's because they know you are an arms dealer Ben. They're waiting to get you good and proper

The sabelt harnesses i have are "e" marked for road use but they are not FIA approved. I got the impression they dont come with both markings. Just one or the other? Personally i hate wearing harnesses on the road. Although in a skyline you look kind of cool.

If you install harnesses just keep you exsisting seat belts in place that way you will have no problems come MOT time.
I have harnesses but I only use them for track etc I use my normal seat belt on the road

i have been using mine for normal driving, kind of feel safer with it on TBH, it is a bit of a cnut when it comes to reversing though as you cant turn round in the seat to look behind you, will just stick with the normal one for now then :?

I have the same arrangement as Econ. The harness is great for track but if I put it on before closing the door, I can't reach far enouigh to close it, so have to take it off, etc. and always when in a hurry.
