Air ambulance day

Post by Darkstars »

What an amazing day :D
Sunday we went to the Harwich Air ambulance fund raising day where once a year THOUSONDS of motorbikes decend on this sleepy Essex town in a massive convoy which takes an hour and a half to fill every street and available space possible in the whole town.
The whole place is buzing and it has the feel of the Isle of man TT races.
Every bike that comes in is greeted by the town mayor and piped in by bagpipes.
The main attraction (apart from the thousands of bikes) is the local open park which overlooks the sea and the port of Felixtowe where everyone collects for the live bands, singers, dancing girls trade stalls, helicopter flyovers, auctions and prize givings etc
It has to be said that a lot of alcohol, food and ice cream seemed to be consumed as all this was taking place
We took a walk down to the local school where the air ambulance had landed and all the kids could sit in and chat to the crew
Even if you are not so into your bikes as I am, you could not fail to be impressed by the turnout of people bikes and atmosphere, and the sun shone all day too.
The whole day raised more than
