I had a top one taken out at the dentist and went back to work afterwards, it was uncomfortable, but bearable with pain killers. I didn't do much work though

A couple of years later after a lot of pain and an infection, I went back to the dentist and he took out the other top one, no problem. The bottom one was a complete bastid and took a lot to get out

I drove from the dentist to the chemist to get the pain killers/antibiotics and felt like I had been kicked in the face by a horse

I wish that I had been given the option of having them out in hospital and being knocked out etc.

I have one wisdom tooth left and that is bloody well staying there :D

I hope that your operation goes OK and that I haven't put you off in anyway.............but you did ask

I had one out a few years back. The pain afterwards was ok. The worst thing for me was the packing that they filled the root holes with - spit and food tasted of aniseed for weeks

Had mine done about 3 months ago and the root holes still ahven't closed completely.

Pains bearable but it just feels really nasty inside your mouth, if you're having top or bottom out they will apparently often take the others out to as it stops you coming back.

Just remember not to eat anything to hard or spicy, me I used it as an excuse to drink chocolate milkshake :)

Good luck hunni

Had my bottom 2 taken out when i was at school. They kept me in hospital overnight. Pain wise from what i can remember it wasn't too bad, mind you the ammount of painkillers they gave me im not surprised.
Downside was i had two tennis ball sized black bruises on my VERY swollen cheeks, which led to no end of p**s taking from my mates
