One of the negative things about owning a Scooby

Yesterday my wife encountered her first bad experience with our Impreza. She had to pick our Son up from his karate lesson, which either her or me do 6 days a week. When she drove on to the road where his gym is she spotted one of her old friends and pulled over to talk to her. After a minute or two two scrotes in a small white van pulled up along side her and proceeded to hurl abuse at her. Something along the lines of "stuck up bitch with her flash car". before driving off they then proceeded to spit at the car and one of them flicked his fag at the car trying to get it through the open passenger side window. The fag did not go through the window but hit the edge of the door and sparks went everywhere including inside to which a spark has burned a small mark in my passenger seat.
Her friend said she had never seen any of them before but I have one or two mates that live on the same street so I will be asking them if they new who it was, if not to ring me if they see this small white van again.
It has scared my wife a little to the point which she now wants me to buy her a small runaround to use instead of the Impreza.

It's a sorry state of affairs in which we live in this country. GRRRRR.

Funnily enough I got a load of abuse on sunday morning whilst sitting in the roadster with the roof down outside my house waiting for jo.

some pissed up chavette staggered down the road with her dog on a string ... OI love .. I would love one of those .. hick hick ... to which I responded - thanks ... then carried on setting the tom tom ...

Her co-Chav with two dogs on strings ... then shouted .. f*king rich people, if I had 60-70 F**king grand .,, expletive, hick, hick expletive ...

What is this world coming too!.

Really sorry to hear your wifes aggro Chris.

A lot of this stems, in my opinion, from the great unwashed having a belief that they are untouchable. The Police can't be bothered as they are too busy elsewhere, the public won't intervene through apathy and we as innocent victims don't often speak up as we're too worried about getting nicked or punched on the nose.

If we/you don't start to take a stand these social standards will only decline further. The possessions we treasure may be even more desirable to others less fortunate or dedicated. The cars are easy targets, quickly indentified financial barometers, that aid people in making a quick decision in judging the owners/drivers. (And that is something that we are all guilty of)

Go careful out there people :thumb:

Don't worry, if these scrotes visit the area often I will find out who they are, going to see one of my mates tomorrow who knows everyone in the town. If he can't find out who they are then nobody can. THEY WILL BE SORRY THEY CHOSE MY WIFE TO INTIMIDATE

Jealousy

Sorry to hear this - As Tony says these types are everywhere although I havent experienced it myself around here. People around here either shake their head at your boy-racer car or give you the thumbs up. Pretty polarised opinions.

Yes I know what you mean with the shake of the head thing, I've had this from people behind me in their car. They pull up to the back of you in traffic cues and you can see them shaking there head at the big lary car with the coffee table strapped to the boot. STI's are like marmite, love them or hate them.

Its these same people that tut at you when you overtake them on a quiet country road but them catch you back up in the 30mph limits in villages because they speed there and I dont.

It does annoy me when things like this happen.

My wife had a similar encounter a while back. She was driving my GTR. She was waiting in the turning space to come off of the main road and two young chavs came over to the car saying "ere Mrs, give us a go in your car". She had my daughter in the car at the time so she did not respond apart from closing the window. They then proceeded to shout obsenities at her and try to open the doors. She saw a small gap in the traffic and shot across the road to get away.

She still doesn't like driving the GTR because of the attention it attracts, whereas not many people know what her Rex is so they don't give her any grief.
