Santa Pod- Disappointing time..

I ran my M3 this weekend.
A rather disappointing 14.3 was the best I managed with terminal of 100.9. There was so much grip that my clutch wouldn't hold a launch.
That said, I still had a car full of junk, so perhaps with a new clutch and a slight diet, I'll get into the 13's.
Fingers crossed.

were you doing a stock run just to see what you had in it or is it modded alittle?

The car is 100% standard. BMW say it had 321bhp when it was new.....

Think thats a fairly decent run really for a RWD!

I'd second that. You are hauling 1.5 odd tonnes of car, 14.3 isnt slow.

The best i managed in my E36 coupe was 14.0 at 101mph and when i change to a performance panel filter and went back the next week i was shocked that i ran a 13.9 at 102mph
so 14.3 with a fully laden convertable is good going.....
Best i've managed in the CSL is 13.7 at 103mph so there isn't mush in it really.

Charles,
Long time mate. How are you?
You should have run the Pulsar lol.
I have just bought an M3 Evo 4 door as a family car. I could do with touching base with you at some point to pick your brains. Shouldn't take long! :thumb:

Well that's made me a little happier, thanks for your comments.

I guess I just felt a little slow in comparison to some of the other cars and would have liked to of got into the 13's.
There was a real fast FD3S there, green wheels and a nice chap to talk to as well. I think the fastest I saw was a 10.9 from it. Apparently it had some real heavy porting but only ran 11psi boost. It was fast!
Bealo- Were you using the smg launch control to get that time from the csl? An E46 M3 Convertible smg ran a few miutes after me and only put in a 14.6.

I tried the launch control but all it did was dump the clutch and spin the wheels.
The best way i found to get off the line was pull away and get rolling then floor it and it hooked up not to bad.

Yeh, that isn't bad, I was in the 15's due to clutch failure so I think you faired quite well.
I can't wait to have my STR fitted, then launch like a pro
