Glad I didn't run on wednesday. :(

I was quite glad I didn't run the car down the 1/4 mile at snett on wednesday as it obviously has some sort of oil leak which has decided to rid the engine of alot of it's oil on the way home.
Only noticed it when Sarah moved it yesterday morning to take the kids to school and saw a patch of oil on the driveway. I checked the oil when I got home and it is now right at the bottom of the dipstick.
It has never lost a drop before so I think I will be under the car this weekend trying to find out what is wrong with it.
So I guess I won't be going to JAE at all now.

Unless I take the Hilux

Take the Hilux as you'll be able to store more wet weather gear in there anyway :wack:
I'm sorry to hear about the problems with the GTR mate, we were only discussing you spending a few quid on it the other night and now this happens!

Thanks for that Stu. Always the way isn't it .
I need to get under there and see what it is and get it sorted before the track evening. I don't really want to be taking the Hilux for that one

If you need or want the ramps, let me know. Also you may be able to borrow the car trailer although I won't be able to tow you around (The Surf has issues

Sorry to hear about the loss of oil. Lucky you didn't get very low mate.
It is strange that it has happened suddenly. I hope you find the cause.

Hopefully it'll be something simple like a loose oil filter. Had that on a CRX and only discovered it when it was parked during a downpour with a tell-tale stream of rainbow topped water flowing from under the car.

Thanks for the offers guys, I will have to investigate over the weekend, if it stops raining for long enough.
I will top it up with oil and see if I can see where it is coming from.

Ok. so I have found out that it is a split pipe from the relocation kit.
I was thinking of putting on the oil cooler that I have, but it needed different hoses and fittings etc so I wasn't sure whether to change the cooler or the hoses etc. I guess tihs has made my mind up for me lol
2 1/2 weeks to get it sorted. before the track evening.
Any one know where I can get another one of the K & N oil filters from with the non return valve?
And how much oil will I need if I have the cooler and relocation kit fitted?
