Posted: Wed Jul 04, 2007 20:40 Post subject: 205 1.9 GTI CHEAP NEW ENGINE - LONG MOT/TAX - SPARES/REPAIR

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey all.
MOT FEB '08
TAX Aug '07

Let me introduce you to 'Christine' or so i've called her. Swapped her for my 405 Mi16 a few months back and within the first couple of weeks of having her, the 1.6 engine blew up and its bottom end went.

So I looked round for a decent engine and got a 10k old engine that was supposedly a longmans one (don't think it is but its quick and looks real new and seems like a dream)

got her all back together and took her for her maiden voyage and found the clutch to be slipping. Booked it into mr. clutch, and found a damp carpet....

damp carpet led to this, a large bodge up in the passenger footwell that i would say is not worth repairing, could be but im not going to bother, anyway the long and the short of it is she's for sale and its up to you if you wanted to break, strip for parts or fix it/reshell it... lots of useful parts on there.....

Anyway:
103,000 Miles
Winchester Grey (I think)
MOT&TAX as above
106 XSi wheels in good nick
1/2 leather interior (not best, needs repair leather bits ok but cloth needs replacing in parts)
Bits of dash assembly are missing
could do with a set of new window switches
pretty much all there, but needs what i've mentioned above
noise from wheelbearing, needs new clutch.
engine has only just been put in, covered low mileage, fortune spent on odd bits from such as manifold fittting kit, clutch cable and other little bits like this. it was going to be a proper engine conversion project and now i'm fed up, gutted and just want whatever i can get for her so offers please

by pm or email to zowow@hotmail.com

Also may be interested in breaking certain bits but really want rid of the complete car. Let me know. Thanks.

Sorry the above may not read that well, and the photos have not copied across. Basically its a 1.9 with rust issues that he now wants shot of, having blown loads on mechanicals. It could apparently either be stripped, repaired and tracked, or driven on the road once sorted. Its MOT'd till Feb, but the bloke is asking
