We went to the RS regional day at santa pod to take the sierra for it's first blast down the 1/4 mile. Unlike previos years the weather was good all day and the queues short
We were pleasantly surprised to find out that we able to run with some of the RS and Cossie boys

Bart 15.4
Pablo 15.5

Here are some photos and a short video from the day.

Until yesterday we had never launched the car, so we tried different launchs

Pablo from 2500 15.9
Bart from flat 16.5 (missed a gear)
Pablo from 4000 15.5
Bart from 3000 15.8

My second run felt really good although i felt that i held 3rd gear a bit too long. The car still needs to be set up properly as it is still not getting enough fuel above 5000rpm. I said to Al that i was not going to run again as i felt that there was only about another 2-3 tenths in the car as it was. Plus i was beating Al and didn't think he would be able to improve his time by that much.

Bart from 4500 15.4

The car was great all day didn't get hot and didn't miss a beat
We now have our starting point for futher comparisions. Great day, Great weekend, Great week :-D

Yes it has finally been sorted, the problem was 2 fold.
1. Original head was warped
2. The timing was 180' degrees caysing the engine to overheat.

I will be writing a full report on the cause of problems, how it was missed and ecentually pinpointed.

as pablo might agree with me i dont like coming second play so on my last run of the day
i lornched the car hard and made very fast gear changes and that is what gave me that tenth
over him i beleive.

what can i say im a sore looser

roll on june for the next grudge match :rotflol:

Bhp has been put up in the dyno room 202.3bhp & 217lb/ft. Although at present we can't take her above 5000 as she is fueling lean top end. Had no problem with traction.
