Newly installed speed hump at work

Post by sleepyhead »

Well roughly 24 hours ago I grounded my car out on the newly installed speed hump at work. Suffice to say no-one was given any warnings of it being installed and even though I slowed to a sensible speed, my car bottomed out on it. Lets just say I'm rather peeved.

Worked out now how to get my car over the speed hump...requires me coming to a virtual stand still and crawl over at 2mph, braking on the descent etc.

What's more fun is that none of the senior management knew about it and they are all quite peeved too. First day and I already know 2 senior managers have lodged complaints.

Not opposed to the idea of speed humps to slow the traffic down where I work (the delivery vehicles roar down the peritrack) however this is one nasty speed bump at a stupid angle in a stupid position. Oh and they are going to put a moving barrier there too (so why have both.. :x )

The speed hump also grounds out a stock BMW 1 series and stock VW Passat. Again they need to do what I do to get over it.

Tempted just not to drive to work and get a lift with someone who is brave enough to tackle everest.
