Now then before any of you take the piss :-D
I actually like them & chose one for my company car as it saved me a bloody fortune on tax :)
I am tempted more & more to maybe look to do a cheap upgrade to say 220 bhp & trackday it.

Anyone know of anyone who has done or can do the upgrades & what kind of costs are associated?.
It seems more than capable on the road & for a fwd drive car handles really well so tempted to have a go :)

I have the new TDI octavia, which has with 240lbft :o Shifts when I need it too. I find the handling very predictable.

I think tuning the VRS will be easier than you think. I have heard good things about the RevoTech programmers at Atthowes (you may have somewhere closer):

my step dad had once of these until 2 months ago, he only did a few things to it a full exhuast sytem and a set of bilstein coilovers it was certainly quick and very capable on the road i was trying to get him to track it but he always wussed out.

John

They do a 5 hour trial for the petrol versions, should come in handy :)

The local firm I know is David Goddard Motor Engineering near Thetford. Call David on 01842 752233 for advice, apparently its a 30 minute job and gives very good gains, David wasn't available when I called so I couldn't get specifics.
