i was watching look east tonight and they did a report on the stena lines sea cat thing that has stopped sailing after 10years service.
they have emphasised the ferry journeys are continuing with slower boats.
but what got me thinking was they sail from harwich and go to the hook of holland?
would this be a better choice for us east anglians to get to the nurburg?
anyone know about this option?

Went that way a good few years back, you have to book a cabin with this crossing. Good thing about it is that you can have something to eat and a good few beers and go to bed, and wake up in Holland ready for the drive down.

any idea on prices?
just trying to add up the difference of the journey to dover and the expensive euro tunnel then the petrol to get back up to holland?
compared to this option it might make more sense?

Hmm, I didnt think the drive to Folkestone was that bad plus once in France the route is pretty straight forward.
For me I would prefer to have a good night sleep on dry land, I have been on ferries / boats a lot when I was younger and found it a nightmare. Plus you are rocking up and down even when you get off the boat lol.
Good effort though Jamie for suggesting this.

Try Norfolkline ferries Dover to Dunkerque.
I went this route last year only 1 1/2 hour crossing and very cheap rates! :-D :-D
