I've been meaning to ask this for ages :blush5:, but is there a reason for having a 'deadline' for editing thread titles? I've noticed some Forums I use do allow you to edit titles whenever you want/need to (Passionford), and some don't- is it for ease of Moderation?

I always used to find it made it easier to highlight any major updates in people's Project threads (Christian's was always a laugh :D).

Not a criticism by the way. :grouphug:

That would be a very useful option for us, especially as we are hoping this to be a long term project and it would quickly give an idea to people as what we are up to.

Ok then, while we're here- does anyone else find when posting that you can never find the right smilies in the 'reply' section for what you want to use, and always have to open the lot up in the separate window? :D

Viva la revolution, lol. :patriot:

:cheers2:

What have I started? :)

Maff will know the answers.....if it takes more than an angle grinder, I need tp phone a friend. I too cannot change a title from the forum, I have to go into the back end of the site (which takes time) I'm not sure how to configure the editing for titles too.

Sorry

As for smilies.............

I've moaned before about marathon threads so why stop now? :)

There's no facility to search within threads which is a PITA when confronted with dozens of pages which contain a snippet of info you need.

Being able to edit the thread name merely encourages endless threads IMO.

Why not start a new thread?

In reverse order.

Gerry. Yes there is.

Stuart. Yes i do.

Danny. No. I just remember them. But i think the quicklist is editable.

Pablo. We'll put it to the vote.

Danny. Ditto, the real reason was to allow enough time to sort spellings and miss clicks but without allowing people to arse with stuff to make the thread titles nowt to do with the thread, which makes searching for something later a PITA, but as above We'll put it to the vote.

(Dont go thinking this is a democracy though!) :reddevil:
