it is a sad day really.
think in 2017 they will be racing a FORD mustang.

just because FORD america are crap and loosing money then the rest of the continental companys have to suffer.
first screewed europe now australia.

Australia is tribal when it comes to motor companys, you pick your side and you live and breath that brand.
Ford have just pissed off a whole load of fans and because they have pulled out of V8's they may move brands because of it.

they are only doing this to save money in australia to bail out america.

well what a washout the last round was.
really glad ambrose kept it out the fence and did really well for his first event back.

hope ambrose can really stick it to whincup next year.

owe and also V8supercars don't change the rules part way through the season to favour a certain team.

were have I heard that before and what do they both have in common?

Gah, gotta love Van Gisbergen in the rain, total animal, a joy to watch.

Roll on 2015. ALthough... with Fox taking over the broadcasting rights in OZ, will we still get it on Motors TV?

To be fair, they were probably not wanting a repeat of what happened in 2010, although it did ruin an exciting finale.



Like you say Matt, Van Gisbergen has been the class of the field whenever it's rained this year- just seems to have a way of knowing where the limit of grip is in the braking zones where others would just sail on by and into the walls.

Ambrose certainly had a difficult comeback, putting it in the wall in practice- though not as heavy as Lowndes, and admitting he struggled to get used to the modern COTF V8's. Hopefully he'll get more seat time before next season and can challenge the front runners again.




Arguably the biggest change is going to be in 2017, with the Gen2 regs notably permitting the use of engine's other than V8's- inline 4 or V6 turbo's-

Whether Ford will be there in any form is hard to work out. As of 2016, there will be no factory support- so will that mean Teams can still run Falcon's off their own back, financing their own engine/chassis/aero development?

the R35 does look nice but I really do get the feeling its going to become another GT series.
