A tip I picked up from Dan Booker and Andy Barnes on my first time out was to pull up to the line and dip the clutch. Pull the handbrake up just enough so that you feel it's engaged and leave your hand on the 'wand'. At this point slowly bring the clutch up until you feel the biting point. Now you're ready to watch the lights go from red to green, release the wand and pull away as quick as traction will allow you. This method helps to take the shock out of a really quick get away :)

Best of luck.

I love the rear most shot Dan and I'm delighted the day went well for you

Any idea of the times you achieved?

cheers Stuart, that rear shot is lovely aint it =]

well i started the day off by overheating the clutch on the burnout >_< and did a 20 second run (you'll see in the video later) then it was getting lower, loads of 16,15 seconds and then which i still cant work out, a 13.7 run

I think there must have been a problem with the timing mate @ 13 secs.
16's nothing to be ashamed of with that though, and I agree, the rear shot is very nice.
Well done for losing your cherry in style!

as rob says below, must be something wrong with the timing on that run, a turbo mr2 does a 1/4mile in 14. something. Nope not at all, it was very busy indeed, i got there at 6:10am and about 15 minutes later, loads of cars started to arrive :willy_nilly:

yeah thats what i thought, because these 10 second cars have huge spec engines, and mine is practically standard :blush5: and cheers ;)
