Haha, yeah get you on the first vid. Didn't get there though did we, quite...

2nd vid, they do corner flat, but was I seeing loads of understeer from most of those cars?

Yeah, partly the nature of the corner but also being mid-engined you haven't got the weight over the front tyres, you can overcome on entry (trail-brake) but once you get on the power your going to reduce front grip, the only way to avoid understeer is taking lock off to match.

You also have to live with a bit of understeer mid-corner as you very quickly hit the compression on the rise of the exit which gives you more grip, if you slow to avoid the understeer you lose speed which you never get back.

Maxx wrote:Just a quick observation re: racing series. I have a few guys racing at Silverstone today, 2 in the Porsche Championship and 2 in the Fiestas. I was watching TSL Live Timing and the Arrowpak series was qualifying. Pole was a 56 sec lap of the National !! which is mental, almost 4 secs quicker than P2. One of my Porsche guys who Qualified in P2 did a 1:06. so thats 10 secs quicker!

It was a Mitsubishi Evo, I did a search and it was running 550bhp 2 years ago so god knows what it's running now. I'm assuming it must be running on Slicks, my Fiestas guys are 1:11s in FP, will probably be 1:10s for Quali.

I was a bit surprised by that time and looked at the individual laps and none of his other laps were within about 6 secs of that. Sure enough it was a timing error, pole was actually a 59.7 in a TVR Cerbera, the EVO was a 1:02.7.

Just a bit of Hot Snetterton News from todays MR2 Championship Races there.

One of my drivers who I did a training day with there last week who races in the MR2 Roadster Class Mk3 (lower power than the Mk2s) won his first race outright today.

.. in fact

He won both races, 2 poles and 2 fastest laps :)

Just thought i'd share.
