Any cars getting into a magazine with our address on the side helps get new members ... so for Bigpower it's great free publicity.

For me I'm not bothered about getting in the mags .. but saying that my cars been in a few :) - so maybe that's why.

But I totally support those who do get their car featured, it's a way of showing all your hardwork.

I dont think any cars i have had or will own will ever be featured in any mags...purely because there too subtle and not distinctive enough

shame really but i understand...who wants to look at my car...lol

Or show all the thieving scum out their just what cars to look for when they next go shopping :o  .

It's a tricky subject I guess, A lot of people like to show of their/(tuners) handy work and I suppose that's up to them to way up the risks involved  .

Me personally didn't have a tuner build my car I built it myself and don't want to lose it just because some thieving scum to a shine to it in a magazine :x .

Thing is, the same car driven through any town gets the same attention .... life is full of losers wanting to have what you have without putting in honest effort to get it.

Thats what insurance is for though :thumb: .... mostly anyway.

Yeah you try claiming nearly 60k back for a 13 year old pulsar and see where it gets you :o  .

My car has a cat 1 alarm/disc lock and is kept in an alarmed garage and also has to alarmed cars parked in front of the doors, So if they nick it they will of earned it I suppose :o     .

No matter what you do if someone wants it then they will take it no matter what, That's why I've turned mine back to looking box standard so hopefully it wont stand out in a crowd of polished turds     .

Get insured through Keith Michaels and all mods are covered like for like - thats why we did the club insurance schemes there for Members Only. Covers everything apart from the time and effort in making the mods.

When me and Bart first decided to build our track car, it was all about fun we wanted to do track days. We were both already members of a car club that did a lot of static shows.
Our aim was to build a car that looked decent and went well but to do it on a budget, which we have done.
After a couple of events and talking to a local tuner about the car in general I saw an opportunity to gain a sponser. An arranagement was soon made and all we had to do was be out on track.... That's all we wanted to do.
Since then our car has been pictured / featured in magazines and with each feature the relationship between us and our sponser grows. We still do not activly pursue these magazines but we do make sure that we at the events which we know they will be covering. These events to us are now work.....but it allows us to drive the car as often and as hard as we like.

I too have some concerns about the car being in magazines as even my neighbours have noticed the increased number of boy racers that now drive past the bottom of my road. But I am actually more concerned about it being hit by another car whilst on the public roads.

The one thing that we all share is a love of fast cars and being to drive them fast in a safe...ish manner and a controlled enviroment.

Some good comments on this subject guys.

As far as I no, the mag never give out the post code and actual address of there features, and like Duncan says driving it around someone might spot it and follow you home.

But it all boils down to personal taste, and that's how it should be.
